Working To Balance The Dynamic And Subtle Energies Of The Body
Chiropractic is the holistic health discipline concerned with the detection and correction of vital nerve and energy interferences in the body and it's underlying cause(s).
People don't often think about the flow of energy needed for their body to perform all of its intricate functions. We breathe, blink, and process all sorts of complex issues without actually thinking about how this is going to happen. A healthy body is able to adapt according to any given situation and environment. This is called homeostasis or adaptive balance. Any disruption in the flow of energy will cause a decrease in the expression of health, wellness, and happiness.
The Central Nervous System is the master system of the body, controlling and coordinating all other systems, organs, glands, and cells. To understand the importance of this system, you must consider that it is the only system fully encased in bone to protect it! (ie: the skull encases the brain and the spinal cord is protected by the spinal column).
The bones of the skull, face, and spinal column are all dynamic and moveable components that are sometimes moved from their normal position and alignment as a result of stressors. These stressors, also called the 3 T's, include:
1. Thoughts and Emotions (worry, frustration, anger, grief, etc).
2. Toxins: Foods, Environmental Chemicals, Heavy Metals, and Microbes. ie: bacteria, fungus, virus, and parasites.
3. Trauma: Falls, athletic injuries, stressful postures.
The end result is what is known as a Subluxation. It is important to note that while many subluxations result in pain, most remain silent. The patient may not even be aware they exist and are causing an imbalance. These subluxations are what chiropractors are trained to detect and correct. A Vitalistic Chiropractor does not only that, but understands that the subluxation is an "effect" or response to a stressor causing further symptoms of an energy imbalance. He or she will also attempt to find the "cause" stressor and remove that as well. If this is successfully done, the body is able to return to a state of homeostasis, resulting in increased vitality, wellness, and happiness.
As a Vitalistic Chiropractor, this is my goal and approach for each and every patient/client with whom I am privileged to work. I hope that you not only find this information interesting and helpful, but that you will consider allowing our office to assist you and your family with your health and wellness.
